Stonehenge location on the Salisbury Plain

Stonehenge is located on virtually flat ground on a very gently west-east slope. In the east of this so called Stonehenge Bottom you can find a dry valley system. It is not located on a well- defined ridge or spur, of which there are many in the surounding landscape. The land on which Stonehenge is built is only 100 meters high. There is absolutely no drama with regard to its location. Without the megalithic monument the place would long since have been forgotten.
