Learning by Trial and Error
The wool flax project is an experiment to intertwine fibers of different species and simultaneously invite nature to entangle these meshworks. The ultimate goal is to find parallels between agriculture and the process of making felt and above all to connect the nature of materials.
By making felted furrows I was able to make my own sown flax field. 
Seeds surrounded by wool fibers. 
I made different types of these seed roles, playing with the concept of ridge and furrow. 
Higher parts should be able to store more water and increase germination. After all wool turns out to dry more easy compared with soil. 
Despite my attempts to protect the felted furrows with plastic and mesh (against jackdows, they keep coming back), germination of the flax seeds didn’t happen. 
Look for the green spot! Unfortunately the only germinated seedling in weeks! 
Birds were stripping of the ridges in their search for seeds. 
In the end I saved one of the felted furrows trying to get more control of water resources.
