In de lentemaanden heeft het bijna onophoudelijk geregend. Het waterpeil in Nederland is zelfs weer helemaal aangevuld. Dit was hard nodig omdat de afgelopen jaren de lentes warm en droog waren. Nu staan de sloten van het Asserbos weer vol met regenwater en de rabatgreppels hebben zich volgezogen met vocht. Het bos kan er weer tegenaan!
Nu het warmer wordt bedekken de weelderige groene varens het dode hout dat door de houtzagers is achtergelaten. De zon breekt door en schijnt als een spotlicht op de open gezaagde plekken in het bos en geeft de gezonde bomen een nieuw podium.
Plots weet ik hoe de naam Eenboomslaan is ontstaan!
Felling of the affected coniferous wood has created a tree-free lane in the forest. Felled trees are moved with forestry machines over these free lanes. A large oak tree marks this newly created sight-line and benefits from more light and space. Thus, the silhouette of A Tree in the Avenue is accentuated.

In the spring it has rained almost incessantly. The water level in the Netherlands has even been completely replenished. This was necessary because for years the springs were hot and dry. Now the ditches of the Asserbos are full of rainwater again and the rabbet trenches have filled with moisture. The forest can take it again!
As the weather warms, lush green ferns cover the dead wood left by the sawyers. The sun breaks through and shines like a spotlight on the open cut areas of the forest, giving the healthy trees a new stage.
Suddenly I know how the name Eenboomslaan (Pine Tree Lane) originated!
